Dedication Ceremony of Advanced LIGO

After years of hard work, the Advanced LIGO Project nears completion of its major upgrade. An official dedication ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 19, at the LIGO Hanford facility in Richland, Washington. Professor Cadonati will represent the CRA and GaTech at this event. Advanced LIGO are the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatories, and aim to be the first to detect gravitational waves, which were predicted by Albert Einstein in 1916.
