Bio:
Juan Calderón is a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Relativistic Astrophysics and member of the CBC group of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration. His research focuses on the modelling and detection of gravitational waves emitted by Binary Black Holes. He obtained in 2011 a "Licenciatura" in Physics from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). Afterwards, he enrolled into the Masters of Advanced Studies in Mathematics, taught at the University of Cambridge, which he completed in 2012. Attracted by the promising field of Gravitational Wave Astrophysics and the awesome weather in Mallorca (Spain), Juan pursued his Ph.D studies in the University of the Balearic Islands, from which he graduated in Summer 2015.
